You are stating that the small holes in the cap were clogged and this was causing the lifter to tick. If you look at the underside of that cap, you can see that a large amount of oil can enter the body of the lifter from under the cap. Those small holes are there to provide lubrication between the cap and the crown of the lifter housing.

Additionally, you are stating that the lifter should compress when you squeeze it - NO, it SHOULD NOT COMPRESS. If it compresses, this means the checkvalve is not functioning properly.

I dont apologize for you feeling like I stole your idea - I've been doing this for longer than you have ever owned a Z. Additionally, your information is incorrect and your process is incomplete. Ned, go crawl back under the shell you came from.
